New England Patriots Sign Defensive End Jamree Kromah

Linebacker Oshae Ximines Injury Opens Roster Spot

Kromah Added to Depth Chart After Impressive Preseason Performance

The New England Patriots have signed defensive end Jamree Kromah off the Chicago Bears' practice squad, the team announced Monday. The move comes after it was revealed that linebacker Oshae Ximines would miss the season with a shoulder injury.

Kromah, 25, entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Los Angeles Rams in 2021. He spent last season on the Bears' practice squad after being waived by the Rams during final roster cuts. During the preseason, Kromah recorded four tackles, one tackle for loss, and one quarterback hit in three games.

The Patriots are hoping that Kromah can provide depth to their defensive line, which has been hit by injuries in recent weeks. In addition to Ximines, defensive tackle Christian Barmore is also expected to miss the start of the season with a knee injury.

Kromah is expected to join the Patriots for practice on Tuesday. He will wear No. 90 for New England.
