Cristiano Ronaldo Misses Al-Nassr Debut in Asia's New Elite Tournament with Virus

Portuguese forward Cristiano Ronaldo missed Al-Nassr's debut in Asia's new Elite Tournament due to a virus

Al-Nassr coach Rudi Garcia confirmed that Ronaldo was ruled out of the match against Al-Ittihad in the Saudi Super Cup semi-final due to illness.

Ronaldo joined Al-Nassr in December 2022 on a two-and-a-half-year contract worth a reported $75 million per year.

The 38-year-old has yet to make his competitive debut for the Saudi Arabian club after missing the last two matches due to suspension.

Al-Nassr lost 3-1 to Al-Ittihad in the semi-final on Thursday, January 26, 2023.

Ronaldo's absence was a major blow to Al-Nassr's hopes of winning the Saudi Super Cup

The Portuguese forward is one of the most decorated players in history, having won five Ballon d'Or awards and five Champions League titles.

His signing by Al-Nassr was seen as a major coup for the Saudi Arabian club and the country's football league.

However, Ronaldo's debut has been delayed by suspension and now illness.

It is unclear when Ronaldo will make his competitive debut for Al-Nassr

Garcia said that Ronaldo was "not feeling well" and that the club would "see how he recovers" before making a decision on his availability for the next match.

Al-Nassr's next match is on February 3, 2023, against Al-Fateh in the Saudi Pro League.

Ronaldo will be hoping to make his debut in that match and help Al-Nassr challenge for the league title.
